Explore Your Interests
Explore various interests! Do not let others limit yourself or let them put you in a box. Do what you want to do and enjoy doing it. You should feel free, while still meeting deadlines. Anthropology has so much to explore.
Plans Change
Do not fret if the degree/course you chose is not what you expected. Your interests within/outside of anthropology can change. Feel free to embrace change and accept it. You never know, you might find your passion!
Don't Worry
You were probably told university is terrifying and impossible. The truth is, TA's and professors have your back. We want you to succeed! One bad grade does not define you.
Talk to People
Talk to your neighbours in lecture! It's incredibly important to make friends/networks in your field. It will allow you to make future connections that will open up opportunities. Simply ask a prof or peer for all the latest! Email anthoutreachuwo@gmail.com for more info on anthro opportunities.
Engage at Your Pace
Try your best to stay ahead, but life happens. Do what you can to keep up with readings and lectures. But do not feel the need to over-burden yourself. Give yourself a chance to breath.
Be Active
Volunteering with faculty and anthro clubs is a great way to find interests and network. Just because you don't make money or do what you want doesn't mean volunteering is useless. Actively volunteering gives you experience for future careers!
